She buys four postcards in Kyoto and writes them immediately. They are all addressed to London, but for now she puts them in her rucksack. She doesn’t have any stamps and doesn’t buy them at the 7-eleven, the train station or the airport.
It is eight months until she finds the postcards, which she does whilst unpacking on a small Greek island. She is reminded of forgetting about them in Japan.
The postcards are delivered some time in June – just as she arrives back in London. They have drawings of Kyoto on one side and Greek stamps on the other.
